Looking after your garden wildlife in September
Log Pile House
Some insects do something called "overwintering" which means they "wait out" winter without hibernating. Lovely ladybirds are one such insect and they love nestling up in log piles to give them protection from the cold. So its a good idea to pile up logs and rocks in a corner of your garden and give them a little place to hide.
Don't Tidy up too much
Its tempting to clear your garden in September but its a good idea to leave seed heads of grasses and flowers and some fallen fruits to give food for those colder nights.
